Maiden Erlegh Bowling Club is a friendly bowling club situated in the Maiden Earley area of Reading on land that was originally part of the Maiden Erlegh House Estate. The green itself is situated in what was originally the kitchen garden and is a quiet, secluded area surrounded by the original high walls. Part of the site has been leased to Whiteknights Indoor Bowling Club with the club house and facilities being shared. The Outdoor club using the facilities in the summer and the Indoor club during the winter.

The Club has 145 playing members and 20 social members and takes part in a number of local (sometimes not so local) leagues in the Berkshire area. The Ladies have two teams in the Thames Valley Ladies League and the Men have one team in the Kennet League and three teams in the KLV league. In addition, the club takes part in the Oddfellows Triples League and plays a large number of friendly and county matches. This results in over 140 matches being played throughout the season.

The map below gives an idea of the area in which games are played and teams travel to and from. In addition to the area identified, the club undertakes an annual tour to one of the Warners’ sites where it plays in the competitions over a week. All matches are undertaken wearing the club shirts, giving a lot of exposure to any prospective shirt sponsors.

In addition to Maiden Erlegh's games, the club hosts a number of county competitions on behalf of The Royal County of Berkshire Outdoor Bowling Association.

Advertising boards are placed on either side of the wall separating the green from the car park. This means that in addition to the members of the outdoor club, all advertising is seen by the indoor club members and visitors during the winter.
