Bowling Bowling Top New bowlers of all standards are always welcomed at Maiden Erlegh. Whether you have played previously or would just like to see if it's for you we will be pleased to see you. We can arrange for you to "have a go" you'll only need some "flat soled" shoes.  We can also make a few sets of bowls available and the coaches will  help you not only choose the correct size but also to give you some basic instruction on the green. Non-members are allowed to bowl a maximum of 3 times before they need to apply for membership. Coaching We have two qualified coaches. Contact details are posted on the Club Noticeboard or can be obtained from the Membership Secretary. During the season, and weather permitting, they will both usually be in attendance on Tuesdays between 12.00-14.00 hrs when they will deliver an hour of coaching.  Please contact them direct if you are interested and they will give you any other relevant information. Clothing Only "Flat soles" are allowed on the green. Should you choose to join, there is a Dress Code but this is relaxed for certain events during the first year of membership. There are several places to buy "bowling gear" in the Reading area. Subscriptions There is a one-off joining fee of £15 and a current annual membership fee of £65 (Year 2012). A package of information is provided. Please contact us if you are interested in joining of if you wish to try your hand at bowling.
