New Members - Page 2 of 5 New Members - Page 2 of 5 Top Dress Requirements for New Members We like to help new bowlers by spreading the expense involved over a number of months. The dress requirements will therefore be partially relaxed for new bowlers during their first year. When new bowlers join Maiden Erlegh Bowling Club they are required to provide their own bowls (which are often available second-hand) and a pair of correct bowling shoes. They will also need a pair of grey trousers (or a grey skirt) and a white shirt with collar and sleeves. However, new bowlers may wear their own jerseys, fleeces or waterproof jackets during their first season for all Coaching sessions, Roll-ups and Points sessions. Those new members who progress to playing in Club matches during their first season must wear the correct club uniform, but this is generally not for a number of weeks or even months after joining. An up-to-date Dress Code will be found by clicking on the link in the Members’ Area. Members are expected to adhere to this dress code. N.B. Jacksons of Reading have a Bowls department and at present they provide new bowlers with a 10% discount on their first purchase of bowls and/or clothing on production of a special token.
